Fuentes médicas palestinas reportaron que un niño palestino resultó herido en la tardecita de ayer martes 8 de febrero, cuando soldados de Israel abrieron fuego con balas de goma en Beit Ommar, al norte de Hebrón, en el sur de Cisjordania. Hoy, miércoles, al amanecer, se han reportado varios ataques a lo largo de toda Cisjordania.
Testigos manifestaron que los soldados disparaban balas de goma hacia varios hogares, causando destrozos y que un niño, identificado coomo Shadi Khalil, de 17 años, recibió varios impactos violentos de bala en diferentes partes del cuerpo, por lo que fue trasladado al hospital local.
Además, los soldados tomaron prisionero a Razi Zaqaaeeq y a su hermano Baker mientras estaban trabajando en sus tierras, cerca del asentamiento ilegal de Karmei Tzur, ubicado entre Halhoul y Beit Ommar.

Palestinian medical sources reported that a Palestinian child was wounded on Tuesday evening after Israeli soldiers fired rubber-coated bullets in Beit Ummar town, north of Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank. Several army attacks reported across the West Bank on Wednesday at dawn.
Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers fired rubber-coated bullets at a number of homes causing damage while a child identified as Shadi Khalil, 17, was hit by several rubber-coated bullets in several parts of his body' he was moved to a local hospital in Hebron.
Furthermore, soldiers kidnapped Razi Zaqazeeq and his brother Baker while working in their land near the Karmie Tzur illegal settlement located between the Palestinian towns of Halhoul and Beit Ummar.
In related news, the Israeli army kidnapped on Wednesday at dawn seven Palestinians in several parts of the occupied West Bank and in occupied East Jerusalem. Four of the seven Palestinians were kidnapped in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied East Jerusalem.
In Awarta town, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus, soldiers shot and wounded a Palestinian youth during clashes that took place after the soldiers invading the town.

Diez palestinos han resultado heridos este miércoles como consecuencia de varios ataques aéreos realizados por el Ejército israelí en varios puntos de la Franja de Gaza, según fuentes médicas citadas por la agencia de noticias palestina Maan.
Un portavoz de los servicios de ambulancias y emergencias, Adham Abu Salmiya, ha informado sobre ocho heridos leves entre los que figuran dos niños y tres mujeres y ha añadido que todos los heridos han sido trasladados al Hospital Kamal Odwan Hospital, en la ciudad de Gaza.
Uno de los proyectiles cayó sobre un almacén de medicamentos situado en la capital que ha quedado totalmente destruido, según Salmiya. Otros misiles impactaron sobre un campo de entrenamiento de las Brigadas Al Quds, el brazo armado del grupo palestino Yihad Islámica, dejando heridos a dos civiles que viven cerca del almacén, según fuentes médicas.
Otros proyectiles cayeron en áreas no habitadas, por lo que no ocasionaron daños personales, por ejemplo cerca de una zona en la frontera entre Egipto y la Franja de Gaza donde hay túneles por donde los palestinos introducen productos de contrabando.
El Ejército israelí ha explicado en un comunicado que sus aviones han bombardeado dos objetivos en la Franja de Gaza y un túnel en la frontera como respuesta a los proyectiles de mortero disparados este martes por milicianos palestinos contra territorio israelí.

Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesperson of the Higher Committee of Medical Services in the
Gaza Strip, reported that eight residents, including two children and three women, were wounded after the army bombarded a medical storage facility east of Gaza City.
Abu Salmiyya added that the facility was completely destroyed while an adjacent carpentry workshop was badly damaged.
Furthermore, the Israeli Air Force fired two missiles into an empty area east of Gaza City, no damage or injuries were reported.
Two residents were also wounded when the army bombarded an area believed to be used as a training ground for the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, west of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The two residents work in a gravel pit close to the bombarded area.
The Israeli Air Force also bombarded a tunnel in the border area between southern Gaza and Egypt, no injuries were reported.

Five Palestinians Wounded In Two Assaults Targeting Gaza
The Israeli army bombarded late on Wednesday at night two areas in Gaza city and an area in the northern part of the Gaza Strip causing excessive damage and wounding five Palestinians.
Local sources reported that an Israeli F-16 fighter-jet fired a missile into an open area near the Cars Market in Al Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City.
The missiles caused damage to property in the area while medical sources reported no injuries.
Later on, the Israeli Air Force bombarded a blacksmith workshop in Jabal Al Rayyes area in northern Gaza; damage to the workshop and several surrounding homes was reported.
Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesperson of the higher committee of medical services in northern Gaza, reported that five Palestinians, including two women, were mildly injured in the shelling and were moved to a local hospital.
On Tuesday morning, Israeli soldiers invaded a number of areas in northern Gaza and exchanged fire with resistance fighters.
Palestinian fighters also fired homemade shells into the Western Negev; damage was reported, no injuries.

Fuerzas armadas especiales de Israel, invadieron en horas tempranas de esta mañana a Silwan y hallanaron varios hogares, entre ellos, el hogar de Adnan Ghaith, miembro del Comité Popular de Al Bustan, y trataron de llevarse prisionero a su hijo.
Cuando la policía trató de detener al hijo de Adnan, Oudai Ghaith, de 11 años de edad, la familia se negó por todos los medios a entregar al chico. Finalmente la policía debió abandonar el hogar con la condición de que Oudai se presente en la seccional por sí mismo a las 10 de esta mañana (31 de enero 2011).
Adnan Ghaith, secretario general de Fatah en el Comité Popular de Al Bustan, se encuentra exiliado desde hace 4 meses en Ramallah, ya que tiene la entrada prohibida en Jerusalén.
Las autoridades israelíes invocaron la ley militar antigua, que data del dominio británico para conseguir esta prohibicioón para Ghaith.
Testigos reportaron que los soldados efectuaron los raids y los allanamientos en Silwan con herramientas que les permitieron romper cerraduras y derribar puertas. La policía especial de Israel, detuvo también a peatones y transeúntes en las calles del barrio de Wadi Kilweh a los que solicitaba identificación. Más tarde las tropas fueron vistas continuando con estas indagaciones y requisas en Baten Al Hawa y Ein Silwan.

Israeli special forces raided homes in Silwan today at dawn, including that of banished al-Bustan Popular Committee member Adnan Ghaith, and attempted to arrest his son.
When police attempted to arrest Adnan Ghaith’s 11 year old son, Oudai Ghaith, the family refused to hand over the child. Police finally left the home on the condition that Oudai present himself at the police station at 10 a.m this morning.
Adnan Ghaith, Silwan secretary-general of Fatah and al-Bustan Popular Committee member, is currently serving his 4-month exile sentence in Ramallah, banned from entering the Jerusalem region during this time.
Israeli authorities invoked a military law dating from the British mandate period to enable the banishment.
Eyewitnesses reported that soldiers executing the raids were carrying tools used for breaking doors. Police also stopped residents in the streets in the outskirts of the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood and checked their ID cards. Troops were also sighted throughout Baten al-Hawa and Ein Silwan areas.

Miles de personas marcharon hoy, 29 de enero, acompañando el funeral de Yousef Fakhri Ikhlayl, de 17 años de edad, quien fuera asesinado por colonos israelíes, mientras se encontraba trabajando junto a su familia en tareas agrícolas en sus viñedos. Yousef recibió un tiro en la cabeza y fue trasladado al hospital Al-Ahli de Hebron donde falleció esta mañana después de haber permanecido clínicamente muerto desde ayer.
El ejército israelí atacó el cortejo fúnebre alrededor de las 12 del mediodía de hoy, disparando munición viva a la multitud, bombas de estruendo y gases lacrimógenos. Más de 40 personas resultaron heridas aunque afortunadamente no de gravedad.
Después de las plegarias del mediodía, unas 10000 personas acompañaron el cuerpo de Yousef por las calles de Beit Ommar. Llevaban banderas palestinas y entonaban cánticos y consignas alusivas en contra de la ocupación ilegal. Cuando la multitud se acercó a la torre de control que se encuentra antes de la entrada al cementerio, los soldados arrojaron bombas y gases. On January 29th, 2011, thousands of residents of Beit Ommar as well as from surrounding villages attended the funeral of Yousef Fakhri Ikhlayl, the 17-year-old boy shot in the head by Israeli settlers the day before. Yousef was brain-dead in Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron before succumbing to his wounds early in the morning.
The Israeli military attacked the funeral around 12pm, shooting live and rubber bullets into the crowd as well as throwing sound bombs and tear gas. Over 40 people suffered from a range of injuries that included live gunshot wounds, none of which appeared serious.
After noon-time prayers an estimated 10,000 people carried Yousef’s body through the streets of Beit Ommar. The villagers also waved Palestinian flags and chanted against the occupation. As the crowd neared the military tower at the entrance to the village on the way to the cemetery, soldiers within the tower began throwing sound bombs and tear gas into the crowd. Several funeral participants responded by throwing stones at the tower.
More Israeli Forces in jeeps and on foot came into the area and began shooting live and rubber bullets. Most of the crowd dispersed at this point, carrying the injured people away. Several residents stayed and continued to confront the occupying army with stones. Soldiers closed the entrance to the village for four hours and occupied three buildings. including one of the village schools. The army continued shooting gas and ammunition at people and houses alike until about 3pm. At one point, weaponry was used against a Palestinian ambulance attempting to give first aid to an injured person.
Contrary to claims by the Israeli Military of “clashes” in Beit Ommar and Saffa between Israeli settlers and Palestinian resident the day before when Yousef was shot, in reality he was murdered while working on his family’s fields with his father. About 100 armed settlers from Bat Ayn entered Palestinian land and began shooting live ammunition, fatally injuring Yousef and also wounding another 16-year-old boy in his arm. It took the Israeli Military almost two hours to arrive in the area, at which point they escorted the settlers away instead of arresting those responsible for ending the life of a 17-year-old boy.

Esta mañana, Yousef, un joven palestino del campamento de verano de Beit Ommar, fotógrafo y estudiante de inglés, recibió un tiro en su cabeza por parte de colonos en el Valle de Saffa.

Yousef era el más tranquilo de todos. Miro las fotografías de las manifestaciones de los últimos meses en Beit Ommar, sólo una muestra a Yousef, a pesar de que él siempre estaba allí. El era el hermano mayor que siempre iba correteando, mientras su primo Ahmed, y su hermano Mohammed, marchaban al frente. Estaba siempre, infaltable, en todos nuestros eventos, fueran marchas del campamento de verano, de la clase de inglés, o marchas en contra de la expansión de los asentamientos. Yousef tenía un aspecto simpático y gracioso, con un bigote adolescente incipiente y sus pies demasiados grandes. Marchaba usualmente al final, pero siempre estaba ahí.
El Proyecto Solidario con Palestina, en las últimas reuniones había estado discutiendo cómo conmemorar la última muerte de un adolescente en Beit Ommar. Mehdi Abu Ayyesh, a quien le dispararon 4 de marzo de 2008.

Los medios israelíes reportaron enfrentamientos sin cuestionar qué hacían colonos de un asentamiento ilegal atacando a familias en campos palestinos. Los involucrados en el hecho son colonos a los que Mahmoud Abbas considera que debe permitíreseles permanecer en el lugar.
He estado trabajando en Palestina por casi 8 años. He estado en el funeral de 8 jóvenes asesinados por Israel y he lamentado la pérdida de muchos más. Yousef es el primero que había visitado mi hogar. El primero con el que me había sentado a trabajar, a bromear, a comer juntos.
Entiendo que todo joven asesinado en Palestina tiene amigos y familia. El hecho de que yo conociera a Yousef es irrelevante para el mundo entero o para el amplio panorama político.

Yousef was the quiet one. As I look through photographs of the past few months' demonstrations in Beit Ommar, I can find only one with Yousef, though he was always there. He was the older brother who was always tagging along while his cousin Ahmed, and brother Mohammed were marching at the front of the demonstrations. The three of them were fixtures at our events, whether it was summer camp, English class, or marches against settlement expansion. Yousef was the goofy one, with the adolescent mustache and too-big feet. He usually hung in the back, but he was always there.
Palestine Solidarity Project has been discussing how to commemorate the last death of a teen in Beit Ommar. Mehdi Abu Ayyesh, who was shot by Israeli soldiers on March 4, 2008 and died, having never regained brain activity, in October of 2008, got very little attention, his shooting overshadowed by the critical injury of an American activist in the West Bank a week later. So we've been discussing how to best honor this teen, 3 years later, and how we could connect it to all the other killings throughout the Palestinian Territories these past few years. I do not want to add Yousef to the list.
This morning, at around 9 am, 100 Israeli settlers (“my people”, so Israel would have me believe), carrying semi-automatic guns, broke into two groups and invaded Saffa (a “suburb” of Beit Ommar). Yousef was with his family among their grapevines when the settlers approached and began shooting. Yousef was shot in the head. He is clinically dead, though his parents cannot bear to remove his heart machine. The settlers remained in the area for nearly two hours, shooting another young man in the hand, as Palestinians from Sourif and Beit Ommar, carrying sticks, tried to protect their houses and their sons. Two hours, before the Israeli military, who can show up in the area in 5 minutes when we are planting trees, came and led the settlers back to Bat 'Ayn. No arrests were made. Settlers said they were shot at, and I can do nothing but shake my head at the absurdity of that statement. Israeli media reported “clashes” without questioning what the settlers were doing in a Palestinian town to begin with. All of this involved settlers from Bat 'Ayn, a settlement Mahmoud Abbas thinks should be allowed to stay.
I've been working in Palestine for almost 8 years. I have been to the funerals of 8 youth killed by Israeli forces and have mourned the loss of many more. Yousef is the first kid who had been in my home. The first one who I had sat with and worked with and joked with and ate with.
Of course, every young person killed in Palestine has friends and a family. The fact that I knew him is totally unimportant to the world at large, or the bigger political picture. But the fact remains: I look at his picture and he is familiar. I remember how he walked, how he sat, how he smiled. Yousef, ya ibni, you will be missed.

Ayer martes 25 de enero de 2011, soldados de Israel efectuaron una racia en Beit Ommar y arrestaron a Amar Abed Al-Hamid Abu Maria, de 18 años, mientras se encontraba comiendo en su hogar. Las fuerzas militares de Israel entraron a Beit Ommar provenientes del asentamiento ilegal de Karmei Tsur alrededor de las 4 de la tarde. Los soldados invadieron la ciudad arrojando gran cantidad de gases lacrimógenos y bombas de estruendo hacia los edificios y la gente que se encontraba en el área.
Los soldados violentaron el hogar de Mohammad Abu Maria, hermano de Yousef y Mousa Abu Maria, miembros del Comité Popular. Al prisionero, Amar, lo trasladaron al asentamiento ilegal de Karmei Tsur sin dar a su familia ninguna razón por la cual lo estuvieran arrestando.

On Tuesday, January 25th, 2011, Israeli soldiers raided Beit Ommar in the afternoon and arrested 18-year-old Amar Abed Al-Hamid Abu Maria while he was eating in his home. Israeli Forces entered the outskirts of the village from the nearby settlement of Karmei Tsur, at 4pm. Large amounts of tear gas and sound bombs were fired at buildings and people in this area of Beit Ommar.
Upon reaching the the home of Mohammad Abu Maria, brother of Popular Committee members Yousef and Mousa Abu Maria, the soldiers broke into the residence and arrested his son, Amar, who was taken back to Karmei Tsur. Amar’s family was given no reason for his arrest.
In June, 2010, Amar’s home was repeatedly visited in the night by Israeli forces, seeking to arrest him. His father was finally forced to turn him in to the military or risk escalating violence against the rest of his family during the night raids. He was detained for 3 months, missing his end-of-school exams, which are required to graduate high school.
