Trabajadores palestinos atacados en el Día Internacional de los Trabajadores-Palestinians Workers Attacked on International Workers Day

En las primeras horas de la mañana del día 1º de mayo, Día Internacional de los Trabajadores, varios trabajadores palestinos, no pudieron celebrar su día ya que debieron ser trasladados al hospital luego de que soldados de Israel con piedras y perros entrenados, los atacaran.
En el pueblo de Al-Zaeem, al este de Jerusalén, dos trabajadores del distrito de Belén fueron agredidos a piedrazos por un grupo de soldados. Mohammed Ibraheem Abu Serhan, de 25 años de edad, resultó herido en la cabeza y en el rostro ya que los soldados lo apedrearon desde una corta distancia. De acuerdo al reporte del hospital, las heridas de Mohammed son serias. La misma suerte corrió Mansour Abu Sehan, trabajador de 28 años de edad, quien también quedó hospitalizado en Belén con heridas en la cabeza.
El incidente ocurrió en un punto que ha sido utilizado con frecuencia por soldados de Israel para esperar allí y atacar a los trabajadores palestinos. Un año atrás, en ese mismo sitio, un trabajador de la ciudad de Saeer, distrito de Hebrón, fue asesinado luego de que los soldados abrieran fuego contra él.
El juego de los soldados no terminó ahí este último 1º de mayo, sino que los soldados también atacaron a los trabajadores con perros entrenados. Tres trabajadores del distrito de Hebrón están hospitalizados en esta ciudad, víctimas de este tipo de ataque. Mohammed Tomaizee, de 30 años, de la villa de Idna al oeste de Hebrón, fue herido en diversas partes del cuerpo cuando junto a otros obreros intentaban acudir a su lugar de trabajo en Israel.
"Los soldados nos ordenaron detenernos. Cuando lo hicimos, soltaron dos perros que corrieron hacia nosotros y nos atacaron durante media hora, hasta que los soldados los volvieron a llamar. Las ambulancias de la Cruz Roja nos trasladaron al hospital", relató Tomaizee.
De acuerdo al reporte del hospital, si bien las heridas son leves, los trabajadores deben permanecer en observación y seguir un tratamiento para evitar efectos secundarios ya que los dientes de los perros pueden haber provocado lesiones internas.
Es importante mencionar que los ataques con perros por parte de la policía israelí a palestinos, especialmente a trabajadores, se han intensificado en las últimas semanas.

In the early morning hours of May 1st, International Workers Day, several Palestinians workers, instead of celebrating the occasion, were taken to the hospital after the Israeli soldiers and their dogs attacked them.
In the village of Al-Zaeem, to the east of Jerusalem, two workers from the Bethlehem district were attacked and stoned by Israeli soldiers. Mohammed Ibraheem Abu Serhan, 25-years-old, sustained injuries to the head and the face when the group of soldiers stoned him from a short distance. Mohammed was injured seriously according to hospital sources, and the other worker, Mansour Abu Sehan, 28-years-old, was injured in the head. Both are hospitalized in Bethlehem.
The place where the incident occurred is a spot where soldiers used to wait for Palestinian workers to attack them. One year ago a worker from to town of Saeer, in the Hebron district, was killed when the soldiers shot him with live bullets.
On the 1st of May, the soldiers’ game of using dogs to attack the workers continued as well. Three workers from south of the district of Hebron are currently in Hebron Hospital after the soldiers let their dogs to attack them. Mohammed Tomaizee, a 30-year-old from Idna village to the west of Hebron, was injured all over his body said when he and other workers tried to go to their work place in Israel.
“The soldiers pointed to us to stop. When we did, we saw two dogs running after us and they attacked us. After a half hour the soldiers called for the dogs to return to them. We were taken to the hospital by a Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance,” Tomaizee said.
According to hospital sources their cases are mild. They should remain in treatment to avoid any further health effects because the dogs’ teeth internally damaged the workers’ bodies.
It is important here to mention that the policy of sending dogs to attack Palestinians, especially workers, has increased in recent weeks.
