Únete al Proyecto Solidario con Palestina en Beit Ommar, Palestina, y conviértete en parte del creciente movimiento internacional para apoyar a la resistencia popular palestina. Necesitamos voluntarios para unirse a nosotros durante este invierno y la próxima primavera en nuestra batalla para terminar con la ocupación ilegal israelí y promover la justicia y la autodeterminación para el pueblo palestino. Este invierno estaremos plantando 3000 árboles en la región de Saffa de Beit Ommar. La tierra en Saffa ha sido destruida por los ataques de los colonos, y está bajo amenaza de anexión por el vecino asentamiento de Bat Ayn. Sembrando nuevos árboles en tierras palestinas, tenemos la esperanza de detener el avance de los asentamientos en las tierras que ellos preveen anexarse y apoyar a los campesinos en asegurar sus campos.
Continuamos también apoyando al Comité Nacional de Beit Ommar en contra de la construcción del muro y los asentamientos en sus movilizaciones semanales en contra del asentamiento ilegal de Karmei Tsur. Además, apoyamos al Centro por Libertad y Justicia en una variedad de programas que incluyen lecciones de inglés, clases de comunicación mediática y artesanías. Muchgos proyectos de microemprendimientos económicos, tales como huertas, invernaderos y colmenares, se están llevando también a cabo. Y por supuesto continuamos apoyando a la Cooperativa de mujeres de Beit Ommar, promoviendo la independencia económica femenina.
Para ser voluntario del PSP se requiere:
Ser mayor de 18 años.
Estar de acuerdo con nuestros principios (ver más abajo)
Pasar un entrenamiento previo (en Beit Ommar)
Es preferible tener experiencia previa como activista en acciones directas pacifícas, pero si no la tienes, adelante y a aprender!
Nuestros principios:
Todos los activistas y colaboradores internacionales se compromoten a respetar la cultura y tradiciones palestinas. Por ejemplo, los activistas internacionales deberán vestirse apropiadamente (pantalones largos, no shorts ni faldas cortas, no involucrarse en actividades sexuales, tomar alcohol o usar drogas mientras se desempeñen como voluntarios con el PSP.
Debemos aceptar ser guiados por nuestro comité Palestino. Tus puntos de vista, ideas y creatividad serán requeridos, necesarios y bienvenidos; pero las decisiones finales acerca de las acciones y actividades a llevar a cabo serán tomadas por el comité palestino.
Acordaremos respetar al otro todo el tiempo. Como internacioalistas no actuaremos de manera racista, sexista, homofóbica o xenofóbica, aún cuando pueda encontrarse este tipo de comportamiento en algún sector de la sociedad palestina.
Estaremos de acuerdo en que nuestro propósito en unirnos al PSP es estar al servicio de las comunidades palestinas en resistencia. Lo que haremos será poner de manifiesto las necesidades palestinas por sobre nuestros proyectos u objetrivos personales. Estaremos preparados para utilizar solamente métodos no violentos para manifestarnos. No se usará la fuerza física o la agresión en contra de nadie.

Join the Palestine Solidarity Project in Beit Ommar, Palestine, and become part of the growing international movement to support Palestinian popular resistance. We are in need of volunteers to join us this winter and spring as we struggle to end the Israeli occupation in all its forms and to promote justice and self-determination for the Palestinian people. We have a wide range of programs lined up for the next few months, and are in need of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers to help make our goals a reality.
This winter we will be planting 3,000 trees in the Saffa region of Beit Ommar. The land in Saffa has been destroyed by settler attacks, and is now under threat of annexation by the neighboring Bat Ayn settlement. By planting on Palestinian land marked for annexation we hope to deter settlement expansion and support farmers as they remain steadfast on their land.
We will also continue to support the Beit Ommar National Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in their weekly demonstrations against the Karmei Tsur settlement. In addition, we are supporting the Center for Freedom and Justice in a variety of programs, including English lessons, media classes, and workshops. Several new microeconomic development projects are also in the works, including several new greenhouses and a bee colony . And of course we are continuing to support the Beit Ommar women’s embroidery cooperative, promoting women’s economic independence .
Guidelines for Being a PSP Volunteer:
You should be over the age of 18.
You should agree to our principles (see below)
You must go through our training (held in Beit Ommar)
It is recommended that you have prior activist experience in non-violent direct action, but if you don’t, come ready to learn!
Our Principles:
All internationals agree to respect traditional Palestinian culture. For example, internationals will dress appropriately (long-sleeves, no shorts or skirts, loose-fitting), not engage in sexual activity, drink alcohol or use drugs while volunteering with PSP.
We must agree to be led by our Palestinian committee. Your views, ideas, and creativity are wanted and needed; but final decisions about what actions or activities we make are decided by the Palestinian committee.
We agree to respect each other at all times. We as internationals agree not to act in racist, sexist, homophobic or xenophobic ways, even if we encounter these behaviors within Palestinian society.
We agree that our purpose in joining PSP is to be of service to Palestinian communities in resistance. We are willing to put the needs of the Palestinian communities ahead of our personal projects or aims when possible.
We must be committed to using only non-violent methods to demonstrate. This means not using aggressive physical force against anyone.
