Israel continúa bombardeando la Franja de Gaza desde el jueves. Fuentes médicas palestinas reportaron que el número de fallecidos ascendió a 15 y que más de 24 palestinos fueron heridos de gravedad en las últimas horas.
Las fuentes reportaron que la Fuerza Aérea israelí disparó un misil al conductor de una motocicleta en la calle Ath-Thaltheen en la ciudad de Gaza asesinando a tres residentes incluyendo un niño. Sus cuerpos resultaron severamente mutilados.
Adham Abu Salmiyya, vocero del Alto Comité Médico y de los Servicios de Emergencia de Gaza, informó que el niño tenía dos años y que hay además, una mujer herida.
Las víctimas fueron identificadas como Dr. Monther Qreiqe’ y su hermano Mo’taz de las Brigadas Al Quds, el ala armada de la Jihad islámica; el niño de 2 años fue identificado como Islam quien estaba siendo trasladado de urgencia a un hospital.
Abu Salmiyya, agregó que dos personas de nombre Anwar Salim e Imad Abu Abda, murieron también asesinados cuando la Fuerza Aérea Israelí bombardeó la motocicleta mientras ésta conducía en la entrada del campamento de refugiados de Al Boreij en el centro de Gaza. Estos dos eran líderes del Movimiento Jihad Islámica.
La escalada de ataques incrementó el número de palestinos fallecidos por la armada israelí en 24 horas, a 15 residentes palestinos.
La armada israelí efectuó al menos 50 ataques aéreos en varias áreas de la Franja de Gaza hiriendo a 45 palestinos entre los que se incluyen 10 niños, 8 mujeres y 2 ancianos. Fuentes locales en Khan Younis reportaron que la Fuerza Aérea israelí disparó al menos un misil Fuee en la tarde de ayer, hacia Abasan Al Jadeeda; se reportaron daños pero no heridos.
La Fuerza Aérea disparó otro misil a otra motocicleta en el área de Sheikh Zayed en el norte de la Franja de Gaza, asesinando a Samed Abed, de 25 años de edad, miembro de las Brigadas Salah Ed Deen del Comité de Resistencia Popular.
Además, varios residentes resultaron heridos de gravedad, incluyendo un chico de 15 años, cuando la armada bombardeó la fábrica Hassanen cerca del hospital Al Wafa al este de la ciudad de Gaza.
Durante la mañana de ayer viernes 18 de agosto, fue asesinado Mohammad Enaya de 22 años luego de que un misil lo impactara al este de Gaza, impactándole en sus piernas y brazos que fueron automáticamente amputados, falleció pocos minutos después.
Antes del mediodía, otro de los misiles impactó contra un automóvil cerca de la costa de Gaza. No se reportaron heridos.

El viernes 19 de agosto por la tarde, el Primer Ministro del gobierno de Gaza, Ismail Haniyya, se puso en contacto con el Emir de Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, y le informó de la situación en Gaza.
El mismo viernes, Haniyya se comunicó telefónicamente con el Director de la Liga Árabe en Egipto Dr. Nabil Al Arabi, y con las Naciones Unidas, urgiéndoles actuar para frenar la escalada de violencia israelí.

As Israel continued the bombardment of the Gaza Strip since Thursday, Palestinian medical sources in Gaza reported that the number of slain residents arrived to 15, while more than 40 others, were wounded in the last 24 hours of military escalation.
The sources stated that the Israeli Air Force fired a missile at a motorcycle driving in Ath-Thaltheen Street, in Gaza City, killing three residents, including a child. Their bodies were severely mutilated.
Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesperson of the Higher Committee of Medical and Emergency Services in Gaza, reported that the child was only two years old, and that one woman is among the injured.
The casualties were identified as Dr. Monther Qreiqe’ and his brother Mo’taz of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, and a two-year-old child identified as Islam. They were transporting Islam to a local hospital as he needed urgent medical care.
Abu Salmiyya added that residents Anwar Salim and Imad Abu Abda were also killed when the Israeli Air Force bombarded their motorcycle while driving near the southern entrance of the Al Boreij Refugee camp in central Gaza. The two are among the leaders of the Islamic Jihad Movement.
The latest escalation raises the number of Palestinians killed by the Israeli army in 24 hours since Thursday to 15 residents.
The Israeli army carried out at least 50 strikes targeting several areas in the Gaza Strip injuring 45 Palestinians, including 10 children, 8 women, and two elderly.
Local sources in Khan Younis reported that the Israeli Air Force fired on Friday evening at least one missile into Abasan Al Jadeeda; damage was reported, no injuries.
The Air Force also fired one missile at a motorcycle in Sheikh Zayed area, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, killing Samed Abed, 25, member of the Salah Ed Deen Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committees.
Also, several residents were injured, including a 15-year-old child who suffered serious injuries, when the army bombarded Hassanen factory near Al Wafa’ Hospital, east of Gaza city.
On Friday morning, one resident was killed and another was injured when the Israeli Air Force bombarded an area east of Gaza City. The resident, Mohammad Enaya, 22, was initially seriously wounded when the missile led to the amputation of his legs and arms, and died of his wounds later on.
The army also fired a missile, on Friday before noon, at a car driving near the Gaza Sea, west of Gaza City, no injuries were reported. The Israeli bombardment also caused a power blackout in the area.

On Friday evening, Ismail Haniyya, Prime Minister of the Hamas-led government in Gaza, contacted the Emir ot Qatar, Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani, and informed him of the latest situation in Gaza.
Earlier on Friday, Haniyya phoned official in Egypt, the head of the Arab League Dr. Nabil Al Arabi, and the United Nations urging them to stop the Israeli escalation, the Palestine-Info reported.
