Cinco palestinos heridos, cuatro son niños, ante explosión de objetos sospechosos-Five Palestinians injured, four are children, as objects explode

Durante los últimos dos días, cinco civiles, entre ellos cuatro niños, resultaron heridos cuando dos objetos sospechosos estallaron en dos incidentes separados en Beit Hanou, en el norte de la Franja de Gaza, y Qalqilia, en el norte de Cisjordania. Dos de los niños heridos sufrieron lesiones graves.
De acuerdo con investigaciones realizadas por el Centro Palestino para los Derechos Humanos (CPDH), aproximadamente a las 09:20 en Lunes, 05 de julio 2010, tres civiles, entre ellos dos niños, resultaron heridas en su granja en Beit Hanoun en el norte de Gaza cuando un objeto sospechoso se disparó hacia arriba.
Los heridos son:
1. Adnan Mohammed Al-Za'anin, de 38 años;
2. Mohammed Al-Abdul Jabbar Za'anin, de 17 años;
3. Sufian al-Za'anin, de 9 años.
Según las declaraciones dadas por uno de los heridos a los trabajadores del CPDH, él iba arando su finca junto a miembros de su familia, cuando se toparon en el terreno con un objeto cónico de hierro.
El objeto se encontraba debajo de un árbol, conectado a una barra de hierro. Cuando el arado pasó por allí, golpeó al objeto que explotó y tres de las personas que estaban más cerca del lugar resultaron heridas.
Los heridos fueron trasladados al Hospital de Beit Hanoun, donde los médicos gubernamentales describieron sus lesiones en un rango de leve a moderada.
En un incidente similar, el Domingo 04 de julio, en Qalqilia, Sabri Mohammed Abdullah, de 6 años e Ibrahim Wasfi Melhem, de 14 años, sufrieron heridas graves cuando un objeto similar estalló cerca de ellos. Los dos niños estaban jugando con fuego en una granja. El fuego causó que el objeto fuera detonado.
Los dos niños resultaron con quemaduras y heridas y fueron trasladadas al hospital gubernamental Dr.Darwish Nazzal para recibir tratamiento médico.
Posteriormente fueron trasladados a un hospital israelí debido a que sus lesiones eran graves.
CPDH pidió a la oficina del Fiscal General que se abran investigaciones sobre los dos incidentes y que los resultados se pongan a disposición del público. El centro exige también a las autoridades competentes que adopten las medidas necesarias para garantizar que no vuelvan a ocurrir incidentes de este tipo.

During the last two days, five civilians, including four children, were injured as two suspicious objects blew up in two separate incidents in Beit Hanoun, in the northern Gaza Strip, and Qalqilia, in the northern West Bank. Two of the injured children sustained serious injuries.
According to investigations conducted by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights (PCHR), at approximately 09:20 on Monday, 05 July 2010, three civilians, including two children, were injured in their farm in Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza as a suspicious object blew up. The injured are:
1. Adnan Mohammed al-Za'anin, 38;
2. Mohammed Abdul Jabbar al-Za'anin, 17; and
3. Sufian al-Za'anin, 9.
According to statements given by one of the injured to the PCHR fieldworker, he was with members from his family plowing their farm when they found an iron conical object.
The object, which was under a tree, was connected to an iron bar. While they were plowing the farm, the plow hit the object, which blew up, injuring three people who were at the scene. The injured were transferred to Beit Hanoun Governmental Hospital where doctors described their injuries to range from light to moderate.
In a similar incident on Sunday, 04 July 2010 in Qalqilia, Mohammed Abdullah Sabri, 6, and Ibrahim Wasfi Melhem, 14, sustained serious injuries as a suspicious object blew up near them. They two children were playing with fire in a farm. The fire caused the object to explode.
The two children sustained burns and injuries and were transported to Dr. Darwish Nazzal Governmental hospital for medical treatment.
They were then transferred to an Israeli hospital because their injuries were serious.
PCHR calls upon the office of the Prosecutor General to open investigations into the two incidents and to make the results available to the public. The centre also demands the concerned authorities to take necessary measures to ensure non-occurrence of such incidents.
