Soldados israelíes atacaron a varios palestinos detenidos después de haber requisado sus celdas en las secciones 4 y 5 de la prisión de Majiddo. El ejército dijo que los soldados estaban tratando de encontrar un teléfono celular supuestamente en posesión de los detenidos.
El ataque se llevó a cabo en la medianoche del 05 de julio, y dio lugar a enfrentamientos con los detenidos cuando fueron atacados por los soldados de las brigadas Naasón y Alimar, según informó el Ministerio palestino de Detenidos.
Los soldados atacaron a los prisioneros con palos y bombas de gas y los forzaron a desalojar las celdas; varios detenidos sufrieron los efectos de los gases lacrimógenos utilizados por el ejército mientras que otros sufrieron conmoción cerebral y contusiones.
El Ministerio dice que Israel ha intensificado sus ataques contra los detenidos,que ya en repetidas ocasiones han atacado las celdas. Los ataques suelen llevarse a cabo después de la medianoche.
Khouly Mousa, prisionero oriundo de Tulkarem y encarcelado en la prisión de Shatta, declaró que los ataques nocturnos se llevan a cabo por unidades que pertenecen a la Administración de Prisiones de Israel, y generalmente son seguidos por una serie de medidas, como restricción de visitas, colocando algunos de los detenidos en régimen de aislamiento, y prohibición de estudiar.
Hani Abu Yousef, de Al-Siba, encarcelado en la prisión de Ofer, dijo que los soldados allanaron y registraron previamente la sección 13, y les prohibieron el derecho de visitas durante un mes.
Agregó que los soldados utilizan perros entrenados durante la pesquisa a celdas y detenidos.
Uno de los detenidos heridos, Nidal Souman, fue esposado con grilletes y confinado a una celda individual solitaria.
Por otra parte, los soldados allanaron una habitación de la prisión de Al-Damoun donde 15 mujeres detenidas permanecen encarceladas. Las obligaron a desnudarse y los con el pretexto de buscar en sus cuerpos. Algunas de las mujeres detenidas fueron confinadas también a régimen de aislamiento, mientras que a otras se les negó el derecho de visita.
El detenido Wafa Al Bis, de Gaza, relató que los soldados irrumpieron en las celdas y obligaron a los detenidos a tirarse desnudos en el suelo durante una pesquisa que duró cuatro horas.
Amna Mona, otro prisionero, declaró que el ataque contra las celdas fue sorpresivo, sin previo aviso, y que los soldados no sólo buscaban algo sino que revolvieron, sabotearon y robaron pertenencias de los detenidos.

Israeli soldiers attacked several Palestinian detainees after raiding their cells in section 4 and 5 of the Majido prison. The army said that the soldiers were searching for a mobile phone reportedly in possession of the detainees.
The attack was carried out at midnight on July 5, and led to clashes with the detainees when they were attacked by soldiers of the Nahshon and Alimar brigades, the Palestinian Ministry of Detainees reported.
The soldiers attacked the detainees with clubs and fired gas bombs at them before forcing them out of their cells; several detainees suffered from the effects of tear gas used by the army while others suffered concussions and bruises.
The Ministry said that Israel escalated its attacks against the detainees, and repeatedly raided their cells. The attacks are often carried out after midnight.
Detainee Mousa Khouly, from Tulkarem and imprisoned at the Shatta prison, stated that the night attacks are carried out by units that belong to the Israeli Prison Administration, and are usually followed by a number of measures including barring visitations, placing some detainees in solitary confinement, and preventing the detainees from receiving education.
Detainee Hani Yousef Abu al-Siba’, imprisoned at the Ofer prison, said that soldiers previously raided and searched section 13, and barred the detainees from their visitation rights for a month.
He added that the soldiers used military dogs while searching the detainees and their cells.
One of the wounded detainees, Nidal Souman, was cuffed and shackled before he was placed in solitary confinement.
Furthermore, soldiers raided a room al-Damoun prison where 15 female detainees are imprisoned, and forced them to undress under the pretext of searching them. Some of the detained women were forced into solitary confinement while other were denied visitation rights.
Detainee Wafa’ al-Bis from Gaza stated that soldiers broke into the detainees’ cells, and forced them out before strip-searching them and forcing them on the ground. The search lasted for four hours.
Detainee Amna Mona stated that the attack was against their cells was carried out without a prior warning, and that the soldiers sabotaged the belongings of the detainees before searching their clothes and possessions.
