El departamento de Defensa de Israel lanzó con éxito su sexto satélite espía en la noche de ayer martes, en un movimiento que fue descripto por ellos como otro adelanto en la intención de impulsar la capacidad de Israel de inteligencia.
El satélite se llama Ofek 9, es el sexto que se suma a cinco otros que fueron desplegados al mismo tiempo según publica Israel Ynet News.
El Ynet citó a un alto funcionario de Defensa diciendo que Israel tiene que utilizar sus propios satélites en "examinar los objetivos", y que el nuevo satélite ofrece a Israel la facultad de controlar la actividad habitual en una resolución más alta.
El Ministerio de Defensa de Israel emitió un comunicado revelando que la próxima etapa sería la de ejecutar algunas pruebas para examinar la validación y capacidad de servicio del nuevo satélite, y agregó que este satélite de teleobservación de tecnología avanzada.
Ministro de Defensa israelí, Ehud Barak, describió el lanzamiento exitoso del satélite como un logro la operación "tecnológico", dijo el Ynet, y que la prueba de este satélite amplía la capacidad de Israel, y el pensamiento avanzado y la tecnología del sistema de defensa.
Israel lanzó varios satélites en 2002, 2007 y 2008. Otro en 2004, que falló.
Las autoridades militares de Israel confirmaron hoy que el satélite espía Ofek 9 comenzó a trasmitir información de inteligencia sobre Irán, en medio de una creciente controversia por otros temas ligados al conflicto con los palestinos.
El moderno artefacto fue puesto en órbita el martes en la noche desde la base aérea de Palmahim, en la costa del Mediterráneo, mediante un cohete fabricado por la industria aeroespacial israelí similar al que se usó para lanzar el satélite Ofek 7 en 2007.
Círculos castrenses indicaron que Israel fortaleció su base de operaciones en el espacio con el lanzamiento exitoso del aparato para recabar datos sobre los supuestos planes iraníes de hacerse con el arma atómica.
Según las fuentes, el Ofek 9 -que se unió a otros cinco satélites espías ya operativos- le aportará a las fuerzas militares sionistas "capacidades operacionales sin precedentes y un alcance más amplio".
Añadieron que el artefacto está hecho específicamente para largas distancias, incluidas las instalaciones nucleares de la República Islámica de Irán.
El satélite recién lanzado que se entiende principalmente para espiar a Irán, pero también se utilizará para espiar a otros países de la región.

The Israeli Defense Establishment successfully launched its six spy satellite on Tuesday evening, in a move that was described as another advancement meant to boost Israel’s intelligence-gathering capabilities.
The Satellite is called Ofek 9, one of six satellites that were deployed simultaneously, Israeli Ynet News reported.
The Ynet quoted a senior defense official stating that Israel needs to use its own satellites in “examining targets”, and that the new satellite provides Israel the power to examine frequent activity at a higher resolution.
The Defense Ministry in Israel issued a statement revealing that the coming phase would be to run some tests to examine the validation and serviceability of the new satellite, and adding that this satellite has remote sensing advanced technology.
Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak, described the successful launching of the satellite as a “technological operation achievement”, the Ynet said, and that the this satellite proves Israel’s extensive abilities, and the advanced thinking and technology of the defense establishment.
Israel launched several satellites in 2002, 2007 and 2008. Another one in 2004, failed.
The newly launched satellite is meant to spy mainly on Iran but will also be used to spy on other countries in the region.
The Ynet said that despite Israel’s success with its satellite technology, it prefers not to reveal details regarding this technology and its abilities.
Israeli military officials confirmed today that the Ofek spy satellite began broadcasting in September intelligence on Iran, amid growing controversy over other issues related to conflict with the Palestinians.
The modern device was placed in orbit on Tuesday night from the Palmahim air base on the Mediterranean coast, by a rocket manufactured by the Israeli aerospace industry similar to that used to launch the Ofek 7 satellite in 2007.
Israel military circles indicated that the launch of the device means a successful base for the operations in space to collect data on alleged plans to create Iranian nuclear weapon.
According to sources, the Ofek 9-who joined five other spy satellites which are already operational, and this will contribute to the Zionist military forces "unprecedented operational capabilities and a broader scope."
They added that the device is specifically made for long distances, including nuclear facilities in the Islamic Republic of Iran.
