El Primer Ministro turco, anunció que el espacio aéreo de su país se mantiene cerrado desde el ataque a la nave Mavi Marmara el pasado mayo.
El Primer Ministro, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, dijo a la prensa en Canadá, que esta prohibición es una conscuencia del ataque a la flota humanitaria, Mavi Marmara.
Esto salió a la luz en los medios informativos israelíes, después de que el fin de semana, funcionarios turcos prohibieron a un vuelo israelí que transportaba militares, entrar en el espacio aéreo turco.
La brecha diplomática entre Turquía e Israel se sigue ensanchando ya que Israel se muestra terco y no da respuestas satisfactorias a los requerimientos de Turquía, a pesar de haber asesinado a activistas civiles turcos y de otras nacionalidades que formaban parte de la tripulación de la Flotilla humanitaria de la Libertad el 31 de mayo.
Turquía sólo ha pedido que Israel se disculpe por sus acciones, el regreso de los barcos incautados, pagar una indemnización a los familiares de las víctimas, y participar en una investigación justa e internacional de los acontecimientos.
Turquía también ha retirado a su embajador y canceló toda la cooperación e intercambio militar con Israel. Las relaciones han sido tensas desde el trágico ataque de Israel a Gaza en 2009 y los acontecimientos recientes han sido la gota que rebalsó el vaso.

Turkey's Prime Minister announces that Turkey's airspace was closed to Israeli military flights after the attack on the Gaza Freedom Flotilla this past May.
The Prime Minister of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, told the press in Canada that the ban came after the attack on the Turkish ship, Mavi Marmara.
This comes to light as Israeli news outlets reported over the weekend that Turkish flight officials barred an Israeli flight carrying military officers from entering Turkish airspace.
The diplomatic rift between Turkey and Israel continues to grow wider as Israel is being stubborn in its response to Turkey's requests following the loss of life on May 31.
Turkey has only asked that Israel apologize for its actions, return the seized ships, pay compensation to the families of the victims, and participate in a fair and international investigation of the events.
Turkey has also recalled its ambassador and ceased all military cooperation with Israel. Relations have been strained since the catastrophic loss of life Israel inflicted on Gaza in 2009 but recent events have left them in a particularly bad state.
